This high tech company needed an independent telecommunications management solution that could significantly cut costs and streamline monthly operations from hierarchical order management to financial reporting, without any disruption of services between its international subsidiaries.
Results
Acme Inc. hired Amtel to do their order management, monthly processing of Invoices and their Audits using award winning TIMS™ platform (Telecom Information Management System). TIMS™ allows clients to access their telecoms 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with secure SAS70 type II compliant managed services. The company uses the platform for order management with multiple carriers using hierarchical approval processes, usage breakdowns for financial reporting for different departments at the company, auditing of bills, recovery of credits from carriers, monthly plan adjustments, and tracking telecom equipment.
As a part of initial setup, the specialists at Amtel studied the entire network of phones, data and mobile. They compiled a detailed inventory of all the elements of the network with complete financial analysis. Amtel's engineers studied traffic patterns on each circuit to determine actual usage. They discovered numerous billing errors, including charges for disconnected lines and local service carriers who were charging incorrect surcharges. There were even charges for the mobile phones of employees who had left the company. When all processes were done, Amtel was able to recommend about 28% cost reduction in telecom billing. Upon approval of Amtel's recommendations, cost reduction and management strategies were implemented, without disrupting the normal flow of business.
