Amtel Solution Secures Data, Boosts Productivity, and Lowers Costs in Financial Services Sector
SANTA CLARA, CA–(Marketwired – Apr 30, 2013) – Amtel (www.amtelnet.com), the leading provider of solutions for the mobile revolution, today announced that the National Banks of Central Texas adopted Amtel’s mobile device management solution after evaluating MDM offerings from five vendors.
The bank began issuing mobile devices to improve employee productivity and flexibility. However, as mobile device use became widespread, the bank wanted to know where the devices had been, enforce access control rules, and have the ability to wipe and lock down a device in case it were compromised.
“We chose Amtel’s MDM solution for a few good reasons,” says Allen Campbell, Systems Engineer at the National Banks of Central Texas. “The reputation for customer support was great and we got a knowledgeable vendor willing to help us with our implementation. The solution has all the features we need, the user interface is intuitive, and we feel the solution can scale seamlessly to support our growth. We got a cost effective MDM solution and a solid plan for successful implementation.”
Using Amtel MDM solution, the bank implemented password security policies, “whitelisted” required applications, and “blacklisted” and banned some game apps. The ability to track, remotely lock, and wipe mobile devices came in handy to deal with mis-placed, lost or stolen devices.
The bank could also restrict users from using certain mobile device features and functions such as camera that could compromise productivity or security. Finally, Amtel’s mobile expense management solution helped track voice, data, and text usage in real time to control expenses, while the “call redirector” features helped save money by redirecting premium calls to free services.
With Amtel MDM, the National Banks of Central Texas secured mobile devices issued to employees across its branches in Central Texas, reduced the risk of data loss, took control of employee usage of bank issued devices, and saved money.
