Ongoing investment in new network capacity by T-Mobile has allowed the company to provide increased 4G speeds in a host of U.S. cities, including Sacramento, California, the company announced this month.
The telecom company said that it had spent $25 million on network upgrades throughout 2010 in Sacramento alone - along with a further $5 million in 2011 so far - and stated that there were 300 cell sites providing HSPA+ 4G service. This should allow customers in the area to experience greatly improved data access rates on their mobile devices.
T-Mobile stated that 150 million Americans should have access to the company's upgraded network capabilities by mid-year and added that more than 200 million are covered by at least its basic service.
Local cellular data performance, experts say, is an important consideration for businesses looking to implement some wireless expense management. If a modestly priced smaller network has strong coverage in an area, it might be a good move to opt for that service, instead of paying for a more expensive national brand. |
